  1. hey, its really random that i found your blog on google after looking up the channel 4 program shown this week. and not completely sure what to say as i have never met anyone else who has to deal with the same thing. i am also a daughter of a hoarder, and my dad has begun too feel ok about slowly getting rid of somethings.

from reading your 'about me' section, your dad sounds so similar to mine.

i hope this isn't too strange leaving this comment?

  4. Hi sorry are you hoarding or a family member or both. I would advise you to speak to your GP and find out if you can be referred for CBT (COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY) or some form of counselling. The best advise is on the NHS WEBSITE symptom chcekr A-Z (http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/hoarding/pages/introduction.aspx)

The first step is acknowledging the probelem and realising it is causing unhappiness. The next step is the desire to change and knowing how to go about it. But the hoarder needs to do some reflection on their life, usually there is something/event/circumstances in childhood and behavioural traits which lead to hoarding.
    Wish you the very best.
